The media spotlight on Baltimore City Public Schools' financial crisis has prompted a renewed interest in the July 2003 report by the GBC and the Presidents' Roundtable on fiscal management in city schools. Print and television reporters and editorial writers throughout the region turned to the report, available on the GBC's web site, www.gbc.org, to explain to readers and viewers how the city schools' fiscal crisis came about and what is needed to resolve it.

The supplement also profiles bioscience employers in the region and in Maryland, and provides details on different areas of bioscience ranging from agriculture to medical simulation.
