Topic: Stemming the Spread of TB
Dr. Carol Nacy, founder and CEO, Sequella, Inc. is a recognized leader in the bioscience industry. Recently honored for her leadership in health care using scientific research and preventive care to stem the spread of tuberculosis worldwide, she was also the recipient of the 2007 Women in Bio’s “Special Outstanding Achievement Award.”
Sequella, Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on commercializing improved treatments for diseases of epidemic potential, recently celebrated its tenth anniversary. Sequella has a new TB drug, SQ109, which is currently in Phase 1B clinical trials in the US. Sequella's early detection diagnostic, the TB Patch, will be commercialized in 2009.
Before founding Sequella, Dr. Nacy was Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer of EntreMed from 1993 through its successful public offering in June of 1996. She is on the board of several companies and non-profits. She began her career as a Science Manager (GS-15) at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Washington, D.C.
