Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Bridging the Gap newsletter. You will be receiving this newsletter every four months and we hope that it will provide you with worthwhile information about our efforts to strengthen the minority and women-owned businesses in the region.
Bridging the Gap, an integral part of the GBC’s agenda, strives to advance the economy of Greater Baltimore by increasing the number of opportunities that are available to minority and women-owned businesses. Strategically, we aim to accomplish this by fostering stronger CEO-driven minority business development practices, by communicating the compelling business case for diversity, and by providing minority and women-owned businesses with tools for success.
The Greater Baltimore region is confronted with the need for a new paradigm - one in which all segments of the business community work together to achieve the common objective of economic development through increased opportunity for all. Just as an automobile needs to have all of it cylinders fully functional to operate at peak performance, so too is it critically important that all segments of our region’s economy function at full capacity in order to have a vibrant economy. We see minority and woman entrepreneurs as valuable partners in our mission and we recognize that the Bridging the Gap initiative is only as strong as the support that it receives.
We hope that you enjoy reading this issue of the Bridging the Gap Newsletter. If you have questions about Bridging the Gap or suggestions for future articles, please contact Kisha Lashley, Director of Bridging the Gap at 410-727-2820 x 19 or at kishal@gbc.org.
Sincerely,
