David Panneton appointed to TowsonGlobal Advisory Board

BD executive joins board of TU’s business globalization center

David Panneton, vice president for worldwide marketing in microbiology systems at BD, has joined the TowsonGlobal Advisory Board.

In his role at BD Diagnostics – Diagnostics Systems, a unit of BD, Mr. Panneton has direct responsibility for strategy development, product innovation and development, and marketing operations.

“Having lived and worked in many other parts of the world, I am thrilled now to call Maryland home and to be able to make meaningful contributions that will strengthen our economy,” says Panneton. “TowsonGlobal’s mission to help local and foreign companies develop technologies for today’s world dovetails nicely with BD’s purpose of ‘Helping all people live healthy lives.’”

“David Panneton’s strength in global market development and his breadth of international experiences will be tremendous assets to the incubator,” says Clay Hickson, Director of TowsonGlobal, “His expertise will help our member companies learn how to compete in the global economy.”

Mr. Panneton previously held international positions with Corning Incorporated, Roche Diagnostics, Hoffman LaRoche Ltd., Baxter Healthcare, Inc., and Molson Breweries. He has an MBA from York University in Toronto, a management diploma from McGill University in Montréal, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph, in Guelph, Canada.

TowsonGlobal, the Business Globalization Center (www.towsonglobal.com), is Towson University's international incubator for startup companies. Its mission is to help early-stage companies—both Maryland companies aspiring to sell products/services abroad, and foreign companies looking to market products/services in the mid-Atlantic region—grow and learn how to compete in the global economy. Member companies receive support through workshops and customized counseling services designed to help them succeed in the global marketplace. They also have access to low-cost office facilities.
